Knowing what to pack to take with you when you are heading off to uni for the first time is something that can be confusing – you don’t want to pack too much and end up with loads of stuff that you don’t need but you also want to make sure that you have everything that you do need for your course and your lifestyle whilst you are there.

A laptop or tablet is something that most students will need and will help you with your studies. You can get cheap laptops that have been refurbished, so don’t worry about having to shell out for a brand new one.

As well as doing things digitally you will also need to have notebooks and other stationery to make any notes with and to do work on paper.

Check with your university course what books or equipment that you might need that is specific to your course – your university should supply you with this.

Bag to carry equipment to and from university – get this once you know what you are going to have to take with you.

Once you have everything sorted for your course you need to think about what you need to take for your accommodation. This can vary depending on what accommodation you have so check what is and isn’t included beforehand.

Bedding is likely to be something that you will need to take with you – make sure you check the size of the bed.

Kitchen equipment is also likely to be something you will need to take – your own utensils as well as cups and plates.

Towels and toiletries are something else that you will need to make sure that you have.
